Services and Procedures

It is important to understand your procedure prior to your appointment. This section will provide you with information on each procedure, as well as what to expect before, during and after it has occurred.

What should I bring on the day?

  • All previous radiology exams
  • Medicare card
  • DVA card
  • Pension card

Your examination results

The radiologist’s report and your images are promptly forwarded to your doctor.

You must tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as this may affect your examination.

For more specific information on individual procedures:

X-rays
All body parts including Intravenous Pyelography and gastrointestinal contrast studies.

CT Scan (Computed Tomography)
Includes CT diagnostic and interventional scans of all body parts, such as CT Head, Abdominal CT, Cardiac CT Angiography, CT Colonoscopy.


Mammography
Mammograms and Breast Biopsy Procedures, and tumour localisation.

Ultrasound
Ultrasound guided procedures, Abdominal and Renal Ultrasound, and Diagnostic and Doppler Ultrasound.

MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
GP and Specialist Referrals.

Interventional Procedures:
Fluoroscopy, Angiography
There are many interventional procedures such as
  • Fibroid Arterial Embolisation, angioplasty and stent insertion.
  • Vascular intervention including uterine artery embolisation, tumour embolisation,
  • Intracranial procedures including endovascular coiling of aneurysms
  • Radiofrequency ablation and Venous ablation.
  • Liver and bile duct interventions.
  • Diagnostic X-ray such as Barium Enema (BE) Lower GI Study.
